Leaving for her
forever home
In a bag her favourite toy,
some blanket from her bed,
Kennel club papers, the invoice
and health check from the vet.
In a box there’s two week’s food,
six new-laid eggs, a leaflet
about biscuits, which if you
buy in bulk are so much cheaper.
One more cuddle, final kisses
before he hands her over
off you go, good luck he says,
to puppy and new owner.
