Q: When does 5 comes before 4

A: when 5 is a patchwork block that needs the sewing machine and 4 includes some hand sewing!!!



So, Block 5 is finished, dated and now filed away
and block 4 awaits a little more embroidery.


I used starch on the fabric and when pressing the seams of this nine patch with sashing and, wow, so much easier to get match points and the correct size. No more stretchy, slippy pieces!!

I'm still enjoying this project and have learn the value of a photo to audition the fabrics. I change my mind about what to use for this and only really decided after comparing the photos of each choice. One very good use of an iPad.
